Surgical Table
Components Life Health
Care contacted Composite Creations in 2007 with regards
to producing carbon fibre components for
their Image 777 surgical table. After
initial discussions it was determined
that the previous method (resin
infusion) they had been using to produce
these components was neither economical
or sustainable. We instructed that high
pressure female moulding of carbon/epoxy
prepregs would allow for the production
of out of mould components with a high
gloss finish. Life Health Care accepted
this opinion and we were sent off to the
toolmaker to discuss our requirements. While
the aluminium tooling and stands were in
production Composite Creations was busy
moving into a larger facility,
installing all the required electrics,
producing thermocouple controllers and
producing flat pattern cutting files,
from the CAD models, for our newly
acquired computerise plotter/cutter. We
now produce the 4 major structural
components for the Image 777 table which
are sent away for CNC machining prior to
the table being assembled.
